Where you can plan your couple photoshoot
Picking the right spot is a big part of creating meaningful couple photography in Ireland.
Whether it’s the golden glow of a beach like White Rocks or Portmuck,
the buzz of a city street, or the quiet beauty of a forest or cliffside,
the location brings something special to your photos.

A great setting helps tell your story and adds depth to every shot. We’ll choose a place that feels right for you — one that reflects your connection, your memories, or just somewhere you’re excited to explore together for your couple or engagement shoot.

Important consideration when getting ready
for a couple photoshoot
Weather
Let’s talk about the weather — yes, Ireland is known for being a bit unpredictable, but that’s also part of its charm.
You might get sunshine, clouds, mist, or even a light rain all in one day, and honestly, that ever-changing sky often adds so much mood and magic to your photos. Soft overcast light is actually perfect for capturing natural skin tones and emotion, while a little wind can bring movement and life to your images.
I always keep an eye on the forecast and stay flexible with timing when possible. Whether it’s a moody cliffside or a glowing forest after the rain, we’ll embrace whatever the day brings — and create something beautiful no matter the weather.

Clothing
Choosing what to wear can feel tricky, but it doesn’t have to be!
For couple photoshoots in Ireland, I recommend sticking to natural, earthy tones like white, beige, black, green, or brown. These colours blend beautifully with the Irish landscapes — whether we’re by the sea, in the forest, or on a windswept cliff.
They also help keep the focus on you and your connection, not on bold patterns or distracting colours.
Comfortable layers are a great idea too, especially with Ireland’s changing weather. Think cosy knits, flowing dresses, boots, or even a warm coat — something that feels like you, and lets you move freely and enjoy the moment.

Time
When it comes to couple photography, lighting can make all the difference.
The most magical time for photos is during golden hour — that soft, warm light just after sunrise or right before sunset. It adds a natural glow to your skin, creates beautiful depth, and makes the landscapes look even more dreamy.
Early mornings are peaceful and quiet, while evenings offer that romantic golden light that feels straight out of a movie.
I’ll help you choose the best time based on the location and season, so we can make the most of the light and capture your story in the most flattering, natural way possible.

Are you a bit shy in front of the camera?
Worried you’ll feel awkward or not know what to do with your hands?
You're not alone — most of the couples I work with feel exactly the same at first. And that’s completely normal!
Having your photo taken together, especially during a couple or engagement shoot, is not something you do every day. But here’s the thing: you don’t need to be a model or know how to pose.

The best photos happen when you're simply enjoying each other's company — laughing, talking, walking hand in hand. I’ll be there to gently guide you, offer prompts when needed, and capture those real, unscripted moments that show your true connection.
No stiff poses, no pressure — just you two, being yourselves in a beautiful place.
