Drenagh Estate Wedding Photographer – Eimhear & Neil’s Elegant Celebration

Eimhear and Neil’s wedding at Drenagh Estate was the perfect example of a classic Irish celebration — full of emotion, family, and meaningful moments shared with over 250 guests.
As a Drenagh wedding photographer, days like this remind me why I love what I do.

A Family-Focused Wedding at Drenagh Estate
From the very beginning, it was clear that this day was all about connection. Eimhear and Neil wanted to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends, and every part of the day reflected that.
Both of them got ready in their family homes, surrounded by loved ones, before arriving at Drenagh Estate for the final preparations. The bridal party gathered in the Drenagh wedding suite, where the last touches of hair and makeup came together in a calm and joyful atmosphere.

An Emotional Ceremony in the Moon Garden
The ceremony took place in the beautiful Moon Garden at Drenagh Estate — one of the most intimate and picturesque spots on the grounds.
It was deeply emotional, with Eimhear moved to tears as she walked down the aisle. Moments like these are impossible to stage, and that’s exactly why I focus on a natural, documentary approach — allowing real emotions to unfold without interruption.

Natural, Candid Moments Throughout the Day
With such a large guest list, the energy of the day was incredible. Instead of spending hours away from their guests, Eimhear and Neil chose to keep portraits short and meaningful — around 15 minutes — giving them more time to enjoy the celebration.
The rest of the day was filled with candid moments: laughter, hugs, conversations, and everything in between. These are the memories that truly matter, and the ones that bring the story back to life.

Portraits at The Balustrade & Italian Garden
For couple portraits, we used The Balustrade overlooking the Italian Garden — one of the most iconic photo locations at Drenagh Estate.
The soft, cloudy weather gave us the most beautiful, even light throughout the day — perfect for natural and timeless images. Even though the couple felt a little shy in front of the camera, keeping things relaxed and simple helped them feel comfortable very quickly.
Family photos were taken in front of the main estate building, creating a classic and elegant backdrop that fits perfectly with the venue’s style.

Why Drenagh Estate Is One of My Favourite Wedding Venues
Drenagh Estate is honestly one of my favourite venues to work at.
There are so many stunning locations for photos — from the gardens to the interiors — and the light is always beautiful, even on cloudy days. It also offers great flexibility for Irish weather, with plenty of options if conditions change.
What truly stands out is the team. The staff are always so friendly, professional, and welcoming — you genuinely feel appreciated and supported throughout the day.
If I were planning my own wedding, Drenagh Estate would be at the very top of my list.

Photo & Video Coverage Together
For this wedding, I worked alongside my husband, capturing both photography and film through our combined service.
This allows couples to have a seamless, relaxed experience, with both photo and video documented in the same natural and unobtrusive way.
